Bwalya Maketo
Zambia
Bwalya is a University of Zambia graduate and an educator by profession with over 7 years of experience. She is also a mentor on the Master Card Foundation Baobab Forum, Coordinator of the Akashimi Kesu Campaign, and a 2017 Mandela Washington Fellow, that is passionate about using her experiences and skills to empower women and girls.Bwalya is also the president and founder of an NGO called the Zambian Women With Skills (ZWWS) Organisation. As a teacher by profession and given the auspices of ZWWS, she designs and delivers transformative mentorship and skills empowerment programs for women and girls to help them achieve their developmental goals. She believes in using her networks and skills to help enhance their entrepreneurial and leadership capacities, thereby improving their economic and social participation in their communities. Activities which eventually translates into national development.
