Dr. Kapil Swamy is the senior medical officer of the Ministry of Health and Medical Services for the Government of Fiji. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Kapil was the team lead for a major isolation facility in central Fiji, overseeing clinical management, social well-being and reintegration, and training junior staff. Kapil has worked in the public health sector for more than seven years and is a dedicated emerging leader in the nation's health ministry, currently leading a team of 120 medical professionals in the remote town of Navua. Kapil is passionate about improving the health of all Fijians and enhancing health equity in Fiji and globally.
