Luis Alvarado Martinez is the head of the GAEA - Giving to Amplify Earth Action program at the World Economic Forum, which focuses on aggregating philanthropic capital to de-risk and unlock public-private investments in climate and nature systems, particularly in underrepresented communities of the Global South. Luis also oversees strategic philanthropic, public, and private partnerships at the World Economic Forum’s Center for Nature and Climate. Working at the intersection of business, climate, and finance, Luis has been able to shift thinking at some of the world’s biggest institutions towards more climate-friendly actions. He is passionate about facilitating investments for local communities to enable a just and accelerated transition.
