Mads Qvist Frederiksen is the executive director of the Arctic Economic Council, a business membership group dedicated to promoting long-term economic growth for communities in the Arctic. He previously served as a senior advisor at the Confederation of Danish Industry’s Global Trade and Investment unit, where he was in charge of Arctic business development and policy. Mads has a background in journalism and worked earlier in his career as a communication advisor for the Danish Manufacturing Academy, a journalism instructor in Kabul, Afghanistan, and as a journalist for the Danish Department of Defense. He is passionate about mitigating the effects of climate change in the Arctic and is dedicated to supporting Indigenous communities and empowering local populations in all of his endeavors. Mads has a deep commitment to helping often-forgotten communities in the Arctic and building bridges between the member states of the Arctic Economic Council.
